Hawthorne Heights Chicago Concert reviews
Great Music, Mediocre Venue
We were really excited about this concert as my husband is a huge fan of Hawthorne Heights. Blackberry Smoke, a band neither of us had heard of before, pleasantly surprised us with their talent and fun music. Hawthorne Heights, as expected, put on a great show. Unfortunately, the venue was a let down. We thought it would be indoor since it was at a casino-resort instead of a stadium. Wrong. On one of the hottest days of the summer, we found ourselves crowded into our seats, wearing jeans without realizing it was outdoor. We were begging for the sun to go down and kind of hoping the dark clouds heading toward us would open up and send some relief. The mostly 50-60 age range crowd was a little dull, as expected. Smoking was allowed at this uncomfortable venue. All in all, go see Hawthorne Heights, just maybe not at Thunder Valley.
